Migrant Eduction Program Parent Advisory Council (MEP PAC)
Each year, SFUSD’s Migrant Education Program (MEP) team supports the MEP Parent Advisory Council (MEP PAC) in gathering and prioritizing the need of this community. MEP parents become involved in the development of the MEP District Service Agreement (MEP DSA) through their active input at scheduled PAC meetings.
During PAC meetings, district goals, objectives and priorities are established based on identified areas of student needs. Parents provide input and feedback on proposed implementation of services. At this end of each school year, the PAC engages in a program evaluation. During this meeting, they review the SFUSD MEP plan, goals and objectives, discuss/plan the implementation of all activities, provide input and recommendations, review budgets and discuss migrant education summer programs.
MEP PAC officials also meet with MEP staff to discuss student data and needs and to provide input for summer and regular year activities. The MEP PAC members participate in six to eight MEP PAC and MEP Parent development meetings/sessions which are scheduled throughout the year to ensure communication with migrant parents.
